Why am I seeing this message?
If you see the message, "The app you're trying to install isn't a Microsoft-verified app" while trying to install Radiant Photo, it means that your computer’s security settings are playing bodyguard. Essentially, your PC is either limiting app installations to those available through Microsoft's app store, or it's operating in the S mode.
But don't worry! We’ve got some easy steps to help you get past this friendly bouncer at the door.
How can I allow non-Microsoft applications on my PC?
For Windows 10:
- Open "Settings" by clicking on the Start menu and selecting the gear icon.
- In the Settings menu, choose "Apps."
- Select "Apps & features" from the left-hand menu.
- Scroll down and find the option "Choose where to get apps." Click on it.
- Under "Choose where to get apps," select "Anywhere" to allow installations from sources other than the Microsoft Store.
For Windows 11:
- Open "Settings" by clicking on the Start menu and selecting the gear icon.
- In the Settings menu, select "Apps."
- Click on "Apps & features" from the left-hand menu.
- Scroll down to find the option "Installing apps." Click on it.
- Under "Installing apps," select "Allow apps from anywhere" to enable installations from sources other than the Microsoft Store.
What if my PC is in S mode?
If you're seeing this message, your PC might be operating in S mode. Windows S mode is like a digital safe zone—it only lets you install apps from the Microsoft Store.
To install Radiant Photo, you'll need to switch out of S mode. Microsoft has a detailed guide that walks you through the process. For more information, check out Microsoft’s official FAQ on S mode.
