If you want to combine the capabilities of Photos for macOS and Radiant Photo, it’s simple. This workflow works well using the Radiant Photo Lightroom plugin (RadiantLR).
In order for this to work, you'll need to save the file back to the same location. This is done automatically if you use the plugin version of Radiant Photo called RadiantLR (ver.1) or Radiant2Photos (ver.2)
- Select the desired image in the library window.
-
Choose Image > Edit With > Radiant2Photos (for Radiant Photo 2) or RadiantLR
(for Radiant Photo 1).
If it's not in the list, select Other... and manually choose it.
(It's located in Applications > Radiant Imaging Labs > Radiant Photo 2 or Radiant Photo if you're using Version 1). - The image should open in the Radiant2Photos/RadiantLR plugin with all edits made in Apple Photos applied.
- Make any additional edits in Radiant Photo that you want to apply.
- When finished, click the Save button in the upper-right corner. Since you’re using the plugin version of Radiant Photo (Radiant2Photos/RadiantLR), it doesn’t ask you for any options when saving.
- Return to Photos for macOS and review the results shown. It is now displayed as the updated version.
Troubleshooting tip:
If your edits are not sent back correctly to Photos for macOS, make sure Radiant Photo has the necessary system permissions. You may need to grant Full Disk Access:
Click the Apple menu and choose System Settings (or System Preferences on older macOS versions).
Go to Privacy & Security.
Select Full Disk Access.
Click the + (plus) button at the bottom of the list.
Navigate to the Applications folder and add the following apps:
For Radiant Photo 2:
Radiant2Photos (under Applications > Radiant Imaging Labs > Radiant Photo 2)
Radiant2LR (under Applications > Radiant Imaging Labs > Radiant Photo 2)
Radiant Photo 2 (under Applications > Radiant Imaging Labs > Radiant Photo 2)
Radiant Manager (under Applications > Radiant Imaging Labs)
For Radiant Photo 1:
RadiantLR (under Applications > Radiant Imaging Labs > Radiant Photo)
Radiant Photo 2 (under Applications > Radiant Imaging Labs > Radiant Photo)
Radiant Manager (under Applications > Radiant Imaging Labs)
Once added, restart Photos for macOS and try again.
