For Windows users, it’s time to update. We’re about to ship version 1.1.0.251. Keep reading to learn how to update. This update is only for Windows users as it addresses a Windows-specific performance issue.
macOS users, you’ll also see an update… this keeps the version numbers consistent. But you’ll see no functional changes. Our team is hard at work on version 1.1.1 and will ship new features to both platforms when it’s ready.
Thank you for being a Radiant Photo user. We truly appreciate your passion for the product and your feedback. This is an essential update for only Windows users. We strive to provide high-quality software and closely look at the bugs we receive through our tech support team.
Preserve Metadata for Windows users when switching file types.
Any metadata present in your actual source file is now preserved when saving for Windows users (this now matches how the macOS performs). This can include:
- Metadata inserted by your camera into EXIF fields such as camera model, lens, capture date, etc.
- GPS data that was added directly by the camera into the file
- Information added to a TIFF or JPEG by other tools (such as sending from Lightroom to Radiant)
- Most information embedded into a DNG file by another editor
- When you save the file as a TIFF or JPEG file, the metadata is correctly passed on to the new file.
Known limitations
This will NOT work for metadata added by third-party tools into XMP files. Radiant Photo cannot parse this information into the new file. Please create a 16-bit TIFF for handoff or sync metadata afterward.
Important Reminder – Raw Decoder for Windows
We recently added support for a second raw decoder for Windows. This dramatically expands the number of file types and cameras you can drag and drop into the Radiant Photo application on Windows.
However, you MUST install these three items. Please see this article for more information,
