Q: I can't save images from Radiant Photo. What can I do?
Symptoms:
- The "Processing Files" progress bar is stuck at 0%.
- The software creates empty 0-byte files during the export process.
- Radiant Photo hangs, freezes, or crashes when attempting to export images.
- An error message stating "Photo could not be saved" appears.
If you're experiencing issues with exporting images from Radiant Photo, here are some troubleshooting steps you can try:
1. Change the export directory:
- Try changing the export directory to an alternative location.
- Avoid exporting files to the top level of the drive (e.g., E:\ on Windows or /Volumes/U on macOS). Instead, you can create a new folder on that drive and perform the export there.
2. Check permissions:
- Make sure you have all the necessary read-and-write permissions for the files and folders involved.
For Windows users, check this thread.
For macOS users, refer to this guide to learn how to change permissions: link. - For macOS only: ensure the app has full disk access and access to files and folders:
- Choose the Apple menu > System Settings (or System Preferences) > Privacy & Security > Privacy section.
- Click on 'Full Disk Access' and use the plus (+) icon to navigate to the Applications folder > Radiant Imaging Labs > select Radiant Photo.
- Repeat these steps for Radiant Manager and Radiant LR.
3. Verify disk space:
- Ensure that you have enough available disk space on your system.
- For macOS users, you can find information on checking disk space here: link.

5. Ensure camera compatibility if you work with RAW files:
Refer to this article: I'm having trouble opening or processing RAW files
Windows users need to install these extensions:
6. Remove legacy Sony RAW Drivers (for Windows users with Sony cameras only):

- To check for Sony RAW Drivers:
- In the search on the taskbar, type 'Control Panel' and select it from the results.
- Go to Programs > Programs and Features.
- Check the list for the Sony RAW Driver and uninstall it if found.
